Bella is a "Coated Akita" they are also referred to as "Long Coats", "Fuzzies", "Woolies" etc. While Akitas with longer coats are not a disqualification in the show ring, they are considered a fault, and are placed as companions. They are no different from the normal coated Akitas, and many companion owners prefer them, as they are very striking dogs. Their coats can come in many different lengths, but the plumed tail and furry ears are usually found on all of them.
